The Dennis Society were privileged to be present at the annual Old Lawnmower Club event at Milton Keynes on the 16th and 17th May 2026. The event included a display of many lawnmowers of a wide range of makes and types, an auction of mowers and mower related items and a formal meeting of Old Lawnmower Club members. There were also members taking an opportunity to sell on a wide range of mower artefacts and components. At the event The Dennis Society were given the facility to launch the new book “A History of Dennis Motor Mowers”. Malcolm Hemley and Brian Buxton worked together over many years researching features of Dennis Motor Mowers with a view to eventually publishing a book on the subject. The book was never published in Malcolm’s lifetime. Following his death, and after contacting his executor, it was possible to recover the manuscript of the book. The work contained an impressive amount of detail and the Dennis Society took on the task of editing and publishing the book. The ‘launch’ took place at the Milton Keynes event. Two 1922 machines with Bradbury engines and two 1925 mowers with Blackburne engines, one of which is what is believed to be a unique example fitted with a grass brush arrangement.
