It is well known that commercial operators in years gone by would swap lorry bodies to make greater use of their vehicles. This actual example comes to us from Peter Jude whos g randfather ran a Coal and Removals business. After removing side boards the flat bed reversed under the Luton body , making a very useful dual purpose vehicle. This was possibly the first twin rear wheel lorry in Cambridge. As a young boy Peter rode on the noisy engine box, and a few years ago he was given the Badge nicely mounted on mahogany, preserved and kept by the driver until he became very ill. Peter wishes the vehicle was still around and hopes this little bit of history is of some interest. ![]() ![]()
